Clinic Prerequisites

Successful completion of all first year classes is required for all clinics and field placement opportunities.


Adults with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Law Clinic

  • All required first year classes and Professional Responsibility. 

Berger Entrepreneur Law Clinic

  • All required first year classes and Professional Responsibility. 

Children & Families Law Clinic

  • Family Law; Evidence; Professional Responsibility; and one litigation workshop.

Civil Field Placement Clinic

  • Professional Responsibility is required for all field placements.
  • Additional prerequisites apply to field placements in specific practice areas:
    • Corporate and Business Practice, Intellectual Property, Sports & Entertainment: Business Entities; one transactional drafting workshop or Civil Pre-Trial Practice.
    • Real Estate, Land Use, Environmental: Evidence; one land use, development or environmental course; and one workshop.
    • International Law, Immigration, Human Rights: one international law course; and one workshop.
    • Personal Injury Litigation: Torts; Evidence; Civil Pre-Trial Practice; and Trial Advocacy.

Consumer Bankruptcy Field Placement Clinic

  • Bankruptcy Law; Evidence; and Professional Responsibility
  • Bankruptcy Workshop is recommended.

Criminal Justice Field Placement

  • Criminal Law; Criminal Procedure; Evidence; Professional Responsibility and Trial Advocacy.

Dispute Resolution Clinic

  • Professional Responsibility and one workshop.
