Concentration Requirements
All students must:
Complete requirements listed below.
Earn a grade of “C” or higher (or a “pass” for courses graded P/F or P/D/F) in each course that counts toward the concentration.

- A Civil Clinical Placement in an IP Related Area
- Sharon & Mitchell W. Berger Entrepreneur Law Clinic
Writing Credits
- You can meet the upper-level writing requirement through an approved writing requirement seminar, or a two (2) credit supervised independent research project.
- Your concentration adviser must assess whether the seminar or the research topic is sufficiently focused on your area of concentration.
- Any full-time faculty member teaching courses in the core or secondary curriculum may serve as the supervising professor for independent research papers.
Service
To satisfy the requirements for this concentration, you must complete a 20-hour service
component. The service requirement may be fulfilled by:
- Providing pro bono legal work in your area of concentration
- Participating in an ABA Law Student Action Group (LSAG) section approved by your concentration adviser.
- Participating as an affiliate student member of the Florida Bar Business Law Section’s Computer Law
- Committee or Intellectual Property Committee.
- Organizing or assisting with speakers’ panels offered in IP seminars or workshops.
- Participating in the Law School’s Intellectual Property Law Society.
Service Component work for this concentration may satisfy some, if not all, of the Law School’s Qualifying Service Requirement. Make sure to clear any Service Component activities with your concentration faculty adviser to ensure that you are meeting both requirements.
Form Requirement
You must submit the Intellectual Property, Technology and Cybersecurity Law Completion Form to the faculty coordinator by October 30th to have this distinction noted in the program for December graduation and by March 15th for May graduation. It must be turned in by the last day of finals in your last semester if the concentration is to appear in your college transcript.
