Scholarships

Scholarship Awards

• Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law is committed to recognizing outstanding academic achievement and potential for success in the study of law. Each admitted applicant is automatically considered for a merit scholarship as part of the admissions process. No separate scholarship application is required.
• Merit scholarship awards are based on an applicant’s LSAT score and undergraduate GPA as calculated by LSAC through the Credential Assembly Service (CAS). 
• Scholarship funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and offered at the time of admission. 
  • Priority Consideration date is December 15.
     

Scholarship Renewal

• Merit scholarships are renewable for subsequent years of the J.D. program, provided the student satisfies the applicable academic and enrollment requirements established by NSU Law.
• Scholarship recipients should carefully review the terms and conditions contained in their individual scholarship award letter and acceptance agreement, as those documents govern the renewal of the award.
   

Scholarships for Continuing Students

• NSU Law also recognizes academic achievement after enrollment. Students who demonstrate strong academic performance while enrolled in the J.D. program may be considered for merit scholarship opportunities. Information regarding eligibility, award amounts, and renewal requirements for continuing-student scholarships is provided by the Office of Student Services.
   

Dean’s Excellence Program

The Dean’s Excellence Program recognizes and rewards high-achieving students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance after their first semester at NSU Law.

• Eligible first-year students who achieve a 3.50 GPA or higher at the conclusion of their first semester may qualify for a significant tuition award for the remainder of their legal education. The program is designed to recognize students who excel academically after beginning their legal studies and to provide continued support as they pursue their J.D. degree.
  • Eligibility and award requirements are established by NSU and are subject to change. 
     

External Scholarships

• Reputable scholarship search engines do not charge fees. Two recommended resources are Fastweb and FinAid. Begin exploring outside scholarships early, as many have deadlines before you receive an admission decision. These awards may be used at any eligible school.
• NSU Law also provides financial planning resources through MAX by AccessLex and MAX Scholarship Incentives.
