Michal Sobotka

Education:

• JD equivalent in law, Charles University, 1996
• PhD in Law, Charles University, 2001

Professor Sobotka's repertoire of courses includes Environmental Law, Czech and European Environmental Law and Policy, Mining, Energy and Atomic Law, International Environmental Law. The Law of Seas and Waters, Natural Resources Law, Internship at Public Administration Bodies in Charge of Environmental Protection, EU Environmental Law.

He is the author of various articles and texts on Environmental Law including co-authoring the Czech Environmental Law Textbook and the Water Law Textbook, South Bohemia University (3rd Ed. 2010), České Budějovice (2015).

Additionally, he is a member of the Legislative and Appellate Commission of the Minister of the Environment, the Czech Society of Environmental Law, the Law Faculty Academic Senate, and vice-chairman and member of the Waste Management Council of the Czech Republic.
