F. Elizabeth Valentin is a disability rights attorney committed to public service and passionate about clinical education.
Prior to joining the Disability Inclusion and Advocacy Law (DIAL) Clinic at Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law, Attorney Valentin supervised law students at the Health Law Clinic at Suffolk University Law School in Boston while representing clients disputing unfair medical debt, challenging denials of state and federal disability benefits, and seeking information about guardianship and less restrictive alternatives.
Before entering clinical education, Attorney Valentin worked as a staff attorney at the Disability Law Center in Boston, where she represented disabled victims of crime in collateral civil matters, and served as an AmeriCorps Attorney at Community Legal Aid in Worcester, where she helped clients seal their criminal records, appeal affordable housing denials, and access reentry services.
In law school, she represented incarcerated individuals in parole and disciplinary hearings through the Prison Legal Assistance Project, victims of domestic violence through the WilmerHale Legal Services Center Family Law and Domestic Violence Clinic, and juvenile and adult criminal defendants through the Criminal Justice Institute. Attorney Valentin also volunteered with the ACLU's National Prison Project and the New England Innocence Project.
Attorney Valentin received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and served as a clerk for Associate Justice James R. Milkey at the Massachusetts Appeals Court. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Florida.
