1981

Judge Melanie May is the co-chair of The Florida Bar Special Committee on Health and Wellness of Florida lawyers. The Special Committee on Mental Health and Wellness of Florida Lawyers is working to identify solutions to de-stigmatize mental illness in the legal community, while also working to educate employers, judges and lawyers on how to identify and address and protect the mental health of Florida lawyers.

Neal I. Sklar, of Peckar & Abramson spoke at the third annual P3 Hub Latam South in Miami on “Social and Judicial Hot Topics,” discussing P3 facilities in the pipeline in Florida and elsewhere.

1995

Donna Greenspan Solomonpublished “Arbitration Case Law Update-2017, pt1” in the November 2017 Palm Beach County Bar Association Bulletin.

1999

Debi Chalik, is a Fort Lauderdale personal injury lawyer who formed Chalik & Chalik with her husband Jason Chalik. She serves her community by donating laptops to a local church’s youth outreach program and recently helped give school supplies to Broward County high schools. She is an advocate for the wrongfully injured and disabled.

2000

Ron Herman, of Herman Law, P.A., was elected chair of the Village of Wellington’s Public Safety Committee.

2006

Jennifer Diaz, of Diaz Trade Law spoke at the Advanced Topics in Customs Compliance Conference on “U.S. Export Controls Compliance” and discussed “Tariff Engineering and How to Do It Correctly” at the NCBFAA’s Global Trade Educational Conference.

2007

Joshua Goldglantzwas recently accepted into the third class of the Florida Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

2008

Cristina Sciortino has been appointed Academic Director with the Space of Mind in Delray Beach, FL, a full-time schoolhouse and community studio for students, adults, families and educators. Sciortino has been an assistant principal, reading specialist and teacher for the past eight years.

2009

Brian Patrick Sullivanhas been admitted to the Insurance Law LLM Program at the University of Connecticut, School of Law.
Matthew Klein has joined the  Howard Law Group  focusing on real estate litigation, creditor bankruptcy work, and real estate closings.
Laurence M. Krutchik,  has joined  Mase Tinelli Mebane & Briggs as an associate focusing on catastrophic personal injury and maritime law.  
Chad Van Horn was named Legal Aid of Broward County’s 2017 Pro Bono attorney of the Year. Van Horn received the award at the 16th annual For the Public Good event hosted by Legal Aid Service of Broward County (LAS) and Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (CCLA). The event took place on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, and celebrates community leaders whose philanthropic work has benefited underprivileged and underserved communities and individuals in Broward County.

2010

Brent M. Reitmanco-authored the “Bench and Bar Convention” summary in the November 2017 Broward County Bar Association Barrister.
Valerie B. Barnhart served on a panel at the Shepard Broad College of Law moderated by Vijay Choksi (JD 2016) and hosted by the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Law Student Division to provide resume and interviewing tips to students.  

2011

Lisa Michelle Kohringpublished “Freedom of Speech and Football: The Game’s About to Start!” in the November 2017 Palm Beach County Bar Association Bulletin.
Joshua T. Higgins, have been elevated to partner with  Kelley Kronenberg  . Higgins focuses on workers’ compensation, police professional litigation, correctional health care, and civil rights violations.
Nicole Saqui Meisner joined Jaffe Raitt, Heuer & Weiss, P.C. Meisner counsels and advises a wide range of financial institutions and service companies on the complex and rapidly changing electronic payments business. She concentrates her practice on payments compliance and contractual issues involving money transmitters, payment facilitators, mobile application payment providers, independent sales organizations, sponsorship and licensing agreements, and agent bank and association contracts.

2012

Sim J. Singh was interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered on November 13, 2017. Singh
is the National Advocacy Manager at The Sikh Coalition in New York, NY.

2013

Dr. Chad Brocato is an attorney with the Brocato Legal Group, assistant fire chief of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services and adjunct faculty with Kaplan University. Dr. Brocato is also a member of the Journal of Emergency Medical Services Editorial Board.
Harry M. (Mike) Leonard has joined  Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin . Leonard focuses on insurance coverage and bad faith litigation as well as property litigation.
Aaron D. Silvers,  has joined  Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin . Silvers devotes his practice to representing and defending insurance companies in coverage disputes, bad faith litigation, and first-party property defense litigation. 
George J. Taylorwas elected to serve a two-year term as Chair of the Board of Directors for Arc Broward, a non-profit human services organization dedicated to providing services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and other life challenges.

2014

Lydia Harley, of Kelley Kronenberg will serve as vice president of the German American Business Chamber of South Florida.  
Dawn Alba, serves as general In-House Counsel of Engineered Tax Services, was awarded the “Top General Counsel” Award at the 2017 First Chair Awards.
Carlos Prieto, joined Kelley Kronenberg and will focus his practice on Business Transactions, First Party Insurance Defense, and Property and Casualty Claims.  

2015

George J. Trautmann IV,   has joined  Frankl Kominsky Injury Lawyers as an associate focusing on personal injury, auto accidents, and wrongful death law.
Dr. Carisa Champion, was just featured on a podcast “Surviving Medicina- Dr. Carisa Chapnion DO, JD, MPH- General Surgery Resident” in the Podchaser.com. Carisa is completing her surgery residency in the Philadelphia, PA, area.
Elizabeth S. Mitchell, joined Kelley Kronenberg and will focus her practice on Third Party Insurance litigation and First Party Property Insurance Defense litigation.
