What is Intellectual Property?

Intellectual Property is a category of property that encompasses intangible creations of a person’s mind. These areas generally refer to patents (for inventions and designs), trademarks and other source identifiers, copyrights for creative works, and trade secrets. These concepts are integrated into several industries including engineering, entertainment, fashion, and business. Technology and cyberlaw are also fast growing areas of intellectual property that deal with the digital aspects of intellectual property.
