Nicole Noël is a Professor of Practice in the ASP Program. She teaches fundamental skills essential to the successful study and practice of law, including critical reading, logical analysis, legal writing, professional identity formation, and bar exam preparation. She also teaches the Death Penalty Workshop, which examines litigation of constitutional issues in the framework of Florida’s death penalty regime.
Prior to joining NSU Law, Professor Noël was lead counsel in all phases of postconviction capital litigation, representing death-sentenced Florida prisoners in their final appeals. She practiced in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the Florida Supreme Court, where she also presented oral arguments.
She began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami, where she was trial counsel on cases ranging from misdemeanors to life felonies.
