Laura Pincus currently serves as an Assistant General Counsel in the Office of General Counsel for the School District of Palm Beach County, Florida, where her practice concentrates on the laws surrounding students with disabilities. Previously, Ms. Pincus served as the Director of Exceptional Student Education for the School District of Palm Beach County, where her responsibilities included oversight of programs for special needs, 504, gifted, and ESE pre-k programs.
Ms. Pincus is proud to be one of few attorneys in the State of Florida to be certified by the Florida Bar in Education Law. She serves on the Education Law Committee of the Florida Bar and is an active member in the Florida School Board Attorneys Association. She is an adjunct professor for Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center, teaching Discipline Law and an Independent Research class to students earning a Master’s in Education Law. She is also an adjunct professor for Florida Atlantic University where she teaches Legal Foundations of Special Education to doctoral candidates.
Ms. Pincus received her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from The American University in Washington, D.C.
