Adjunct Professor Benjamin is the managing shareholder of The Barrister, Firm, P.A., a full service law boutique dedicated to providing outstanding and affordable legal services to middle class litigants.  He also serves as a mediator for Miami’s prestigious ADR firm, Salmon & Dulberg – Dispute Resolution.  In 2011, he was appointed to Miami-Dade County’s Traffic Court where he serves as a Traffic Magistrate.  He has also been appointed by various municipalities to serve as Special Magistrate for quasi-judicial proceedings within the city.  
While at St. Thomas School of Law, Adjunct Professor Benjamin was a Florida Bar Foundation Scholar, a member of the Student Senate and executive officer for the Southern Region of the Black Law Students Association.  Since graduating law school, Professor Benjamin has held numerous positions of leadership within the general community and the legal profession.  He has been awarded several community and peer recognitions, such as: AV Preeminent Attorney, Super Lawyer, Legal Elite and Top 40 under 40 Black Leaders.  Professor Benjamin is licensed to practice in the State of Florida, the Southern, Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, the US Appellate Court for the Eleventh Circuit, the Appellate Court for the US Armed Forces and the Supreme Court of the United States.  He is also a Florida Certified Mediator and Arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Agency (“FINRA”).
