Adjunct Professor Almeyda was appointed by Governor Rick Scott as a Judge of Compensation Claims in Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami, Florida. He started his career as an insurance adjuster at Crawford and Company and worked as such while attending law school at Florida State University. Since then he has had extensive defense practice in many fields, aviation, civil, corporate with a primary focus on worker’s compensation. He has extensively lectured in various worker’s compensation subjects, published several articles and a textbook, THE ADJUSTER’S MANUAL FOR WORKER’S COMPENSATION. In addition, he has served as a state mediator in Miami District since 2007 mediating over four thousand cases.
